Happy Birthday Isaiah
Our house is now the home of a 3 year old! We had a fun party with some great friends. Isaiah has had a BLAST!

So, I guess I must have tried to put too many pictures on the last blog, so if you are reading this, go down to the next blog post first. It will make more sense.
Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas to you....late! We had a fantastic Christmas, I might even say the best one yet! We hung out as a family on Christmas Eve until it was time for church. I wanted to leave the house at 3:15, but of course at 3:00 I was still waiting for both kids to wake up from nap. I actually had to wake them up to get out the door. I thought it was going to be dangerous, as neither of them are exactly "get up and go" kids after their naps, but a small Christmas miracle happened and they both got up and ready to go with out any trouble! The only downside was that I, being the picture taker that I am, was not able to get a picture of them both together. And in fact Isaiah's picture was re-created just the other day. He was not loving the camera right after his nap/before church.
We attended a wonderful service, where Brielle used her new-found Independence to walk up by herself to find Daddy for the children's message. The only problem was that she didn't want to "just sit" for the rest of the service after realizing that she could walk around. So we spent the rest of service in the cry room climbing on the chairs.
We have been blessed with a wonderful adopted family here. They have graciously accepted us into their family celebrations, so we once again crashed their Christmas Eve celebration. It was so wonderful to be surround by family even though our other families are far away. Isaiah was spoiled with his first kiddie cocktail and many many cherries, while Brielle was dotted on by Landry, a 7 year old going on 16. Landry also made both of them pillows which turned into a pillow fight and tons of fun!
Christmas Day was just spent hanging out at home. Steve had to go to church, but we opted out since the kids didn't go to bed until 9:30/9:40. It was so much fun to watch Isaiah get the hang of opening presents and wanting to play with everything "right now". Brielle just loved to rip the paper weather it was on gifts or not.
Brielle enjoyed her first taste of the traditional Cinnamon rolls, as we all did! Isaiah gave Brielle a bottle for her babies, and I got tacos from him. When asked a question about anything, Isaiah usually answers, "tacos". So when out shopping for a gift for me the answer was always...tacos. So you guessed it, that's what I got!
It was just a fun day to relax and enjoy 24 hours of A Christmas Story as well as each other. Of course every holiday makes us miss family, so next year we will have to skype.

Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas from our family to yours. I hope you are all preparing for the celebration that will take place tonight. We certainly are, however it makes this night and day (tomorrow) hard to be away from family.
Today we ate our traditional chicken kiev, broccoli cheese rice and applesauce jello salad. This year our chicken kiev was homemade, and much better than the frozen kind.
We started a new tradition of letting the kids open 1 gift early, which will always be Christmas jammies. They enjoyed themselves, but Brielle just wanted to rip the paper. She could have cared less that there was a gift inside. Then when we weren't looking, she helped herself to another gift. At least it was hers, and she didn't get it all the way unwrapped. She really likes to squish the bows!
Now it's off to a quick nap and then the race to get ready and get to church!

The REAL Housewives
You know the shows, The Real Housewives of Orange County, New York, New Jersey, Atlanta and so on. They never really show "real" life, well at least not a real life of anyone I know. I think I am in the running for the actual REAL housewives show. My children are the best here are some of their best antics.
While rushing to make lunch, Isaiah decided to play catch with the Bisquick. Here are the results of what followed that decision:
So we turned it into a quick sensory learning time for Brielle.
I wish I would have gotten a picture of Isaiah. His hair was completely white, and he was stunned at the mess it made. All you could really do is laugh!
The next precious antic was captured on Sunday morning while I went to take a shower. There were 2 rules, no touching each other and no closing/locking doors.
Well, they found something to do that didn't break the rules. Yes, that is Isaiah's room and all of he clothes that he owns out of the drawers. They briefly moved into Brielle' room, but the mess was not near as bad. That will teach me to take a shower!

Getting Ready for Christmas
You just can't have Christmas without baking and decorating cookies! Isaiah is such a good and willing helper! I think Brielle would really like to help too, but she is just a little to small yet. She did get into it at the end!
Isaiah decorated 3 or 4 while I decorated the rest. He had a much better time, well see for yourself!
Brielle woke up from her nap and joined us too! She LOVES her sweets!!!
It also just isn't Christmas without a gingerbread house. Since we knew Brielle would eat the pieces she and Daddy made their own out of graham crackers, frosting and cheerios while Isaiah and Mommy made the other one.
We wish each and every one of you a Merry Christmas. We wish we were able to celebrate with all of you. I will try to post Christmas pictures soon!
