Big Girl

Well it's official, my little girl is quickly becoming a big girl! Today was the "official" switch...no more infant cereal, no more nursing, no more. I am taking this much harder than I did with Isaiah. I am glad that she will be eating more solids, which makes it easier to go places, but also more expensive. She is a tank! She can out eat Isaiah any day, and we thought Isaiah was a big eater!!!! Steve and I are going to each need to get another job just to feed these two!



Today we went downtown Sun Prairie to the Fall festival. Participating businesses had crafts and/or games in their stores, so we took in a little pumpkin bowling,


Some crafts where Brielle just liked eating the glue stick.





Then we played a pumpkin bean bag toss game. Isaiah tried to do it the right way and had fun, while Brielle just walked up to the pumpkin like she owned it and threw the bean bags inside, while eating her glue stick.





We also got to go on a horse drawn wagon ride. It was fun to watch the kids having fun. Since we went down main street, there were plenty of cars for Brielle to wave to.
And yes, I have one picture to prove that I was there too!



We topped off the afternoon by decorating a cupcake. Brielle was talking up a storm...must have been something good! Isaiah was allowed to eat it after nap, where he practically ate it in one bite!

Pumpkin Patch

Last week I took the kids to the pumpkin patch and it was SO much fun!!! It was a really hot day though! Who knew on October 10th we would be wearing shorts and tank tops?!

The pumpkin patch that we went to was part of our MOPS, Mothers Of Preschoolers, group that I am a part of. We have two playgroups a month, one of which is usually an outing. This month we had the whole farm to ourselves! There was a bouncy house, pedal tractors, corn maze, jungle gym, little kiddo maze, slide into a corn bin, duck races, and lots of animals. They took us on a tractor ride out to the pumpkin patch and we got to search for our great pumpkin.

Apple Guts

Well, Some of you know the glory of apple guts, but for those of you who don't it is when you stomp on the almost rotten apples on the ground. Here is a picture of this years apple guts.



Let me back up a bit and start at the beginning. We had to find a new orchard this year, and I was having a hard time. I just wanted to go back to the greatest place on earth...but it is a 6 hour drive back into the St. Louis area. So that was out of the question. After settling on an orchard, we set out on our journey...too bad each of us thought that the other one had the directions! Well, long story short we turned around 3 different times and finally found the orchard. We had a long walk up a very steep hill to get to the orchard.




Thanks goodness Steve did the work!

We picked our apples and sampled a few too!














At first Brielle just liked picking the apple out of the bag an putting it back in the bag. Then she figured out that they are good to eat!

We had a great day!

October News

Well, here it is....October already! I can't believe that we just got home from a Halloween party where it was too hot to wear costumes!!! We actually had the air conditioner on most of the day too! It looks so nice with the leaves falling, you expect the air to be crisp and then you open the window to heat?! It's crazy! I guess this past week has been about 20 degrees above normal!

Brielle has been walking more and more and is almost running now! The video I wanted to post has a problem with it, so I will try again another day. Here are a few pictures of Isaiah trying to help her walk one day.




Isaiah really likes to help her...to the point where she can't do things on her own. Now I really understand how come the second children don't talk as quickly as the first! She is doomed! She is a really funny girl who is starting to show it! She makes funny faces and noises and loves to giggle.




Isaiah is becoming such a big boy! His legs are getting longer, is appetite is bigger and he is learning how to use the potty! Potty training is definitely harder on me than it is on him! I already miss the diaper days! He is putting together more complex sentences, which make us laugh! Our latest favorite is when he starts the sentence with "actually". He is a funny, goofy kid who likes to throw things. (most things are appropriate)
