Flying

How did so much time pass between my last post and now? Oh yeah, maybe 2 little kiddos! We have been busy and on the road lately!

We spent a weekend in Northern WI at a congregation members cabin with the high school youth kids. It certainly was a good time boating, fishing, jet skiing, fishing, eating, and enjoying the sun. Oh did I mention fishing? Isaiah caught his first fish! While Steve was trying to get the hook out, he had to put the fish back in the water, so he told Isaiah that he caught another one. Since Isaiah bought it the first time, Steve did it again! Isaiah was so excited that he caught fish! He even threw it back himself!

While Isaiah and Daddy fished, Brielle and I got in the car for a 5 hour trek across the state to MN. My Mom was hosting a baby shower and requested help. It was a lot of fun spending time alone with Brielle, and she enjoyed it too!

We returned home to unpack, do the laundry and repack for another weekend away at another member's cabin. It was also nice to get away and enjoy some more fishing, boating and food. Steve even jumped off a cliff into the lake. Let's just say I was more than nervous, but he did it anyway!

Now we are gearing up for the beginning of the school year, which means new schedules and new programs starting at church. Exciting and overwhelming all at the same time!

Isaiah is getting very tired of his toys, which is obvious in his behavior. He isn't terrible, but you can tell he is bored. I need to beef up my efforts to teach him new skills, and keep him engaged.

Brielle is cutting 2 new teeth, and they are not being kind to her! She is clingy, but wants her space...go figure! She pulls herself up on everything, pushes anything that she can walk behind, eats anything in front of her, and takes everything out of my drawers and lazy susans in the kitchen. She even tried butter Crisco one day!

Yet Another

I know...another blog! I just can't stop!

Today was a glorious day. The weather was beautiful! We skipped nap (always risky) and went to the last softball game of the season. It was the old guys verses the young guys of our church. The old guys were off to a good start with a 1,2,3 first inning, but the young guys kicked the snot out of the old guys. They won by a landslide, and Steve had some great hits! (I mean doesn't he always?!) The kiddos each had their moments since both were tired and hungry, but we celebrated at Dairy Queen. Brielle was pretty mad when Daddy's ice cream cone was gone, and Isaiah was a great sharer with Mom!

We came home to cook dinner on the fire. We had hot dogs, grilled by Isaiah and Dad, beans, and caprese salad. For the finale Isaiah got his first taste of a Smore. He was really into it at first, but then he just wanted chocolate.

Now we are clean and getting ready for an early night!

oops

I messed up the next post.....the first 3 pictures actually belong to the words on the bottom of the post.

Also the pictures were added back words, so the Popsicle sequence is back words.

I am so anal it just bothers me!!!

Other than that, enjoy!

2 in one week

Don't fall off your chairs....two blogs in one week! I know amazing! Not too much has happened in a week other than the normal routine stuff.

We are still trying to shake the flu bug at our house. I am still the only one who has not been sick, for which I am SO thankful. However I am really tired of cleaning up after this bug.

We have had some really beautiful weather that we have been enjoying. Nothing says summer to me more than enjoying a good old Popsicle. Of course Isaiah loves them, so one afternoon we both had a Popsicle. I shared my lime one with Brielle, which she didn't love.

Then Isaiah decided that he wanted to share his, which she loved. She would get quite upset when he took his turn! It was really sweet to watch.

We also spent some time at the park with is a favorite spot!

Brielle has also been a busy woman. She has learned how to pull open drawers and empty them...nothing is safe!

Much needed break

We just returned from a wonderful vacation in the Wisconsin Dells with Calie's family. We learned what a fearless little girl we have! She was not afraid to crawl in deep water...to deep for my comfort. She would slip, get right back up and never miss a beat. Isaiah also had a great time playing in the water. He went down numerous water slides. When asked if he had fun the answer was always yes, but if asked if he wanted to do it again the answer was always no! It was fun to get away and enjoy some sun!

As I started this post 4 days ago, Isaiah was running around our house since going to bed at a normal time after vacation was not happening. Since then we have all been knocked down with the stomach flu. Steve and I woke up to Isaiah throwing up in our bed Friday morning, followed by a loud scream from him when he "messed" the bed and was covered from head to toe. Steve got it next followed by Brielle at 2 am on Sunday morning (Saturday night to me). So far I, Calie, have escaped the rath of this nasty bug. I just got the rath of the laundry, cracker giver, puked on, and cleaner upper of vomit. I'm not sure which is worse!

Isaiah seems to be growing like a weed. Three people in the last 2 days have made comments about how big he looks. I think it's tough to tell, but I also see him everyday.

Brielle celebrated her 9 month birthday on vacation. It is so hard to believe that she is 9 months old already! She is just as sweet as ever, and learning to do so much! She can walk behind a push toy and even stand for a few seconds by herself! She is now the proud owner of new big girl shoes! By that I mean the shoes have soles to help her walk instead of shoes that just look pretty. She likes to eat them, but I think they really do help her stand/walk.
