Visitors

We were lucky enough to be blessed with a visit from "G" (Steve's Grandma) and Uncle Carl a few weeks ago. I know I am really late at putting this information in a blog form, so I apologize. We had such a fun time mainly just hanging out!
Steve and I were lucky enough to play a new card game called 5 crowns with them. Same idea as Phase 10, which Steve HATES, but this one is super fun! Steve had a low score of 28 (the idea is to get the lowest score), so he called the company to see if that was the lowest recorded score. Turns out the company actually called him back! What a nerd! He did not have the lowest recorded score, the creator held that title.
Enjoy some pictures of our fun visit.

On the first day, as we were sitting on our deck, Steve's chair took a plunge through the deck!

We also visited a small theme park near our house called Little Amerika (no I really did spell it right!). They have a few rides for small kids and a train!

Waiting for the train

We NEVER thought that Isaiah would go on the roller coaster, but he wanted to so Steve took him. I think they must have gone around about 6 times!

This was the 6th!

We decided, kinda last minute, that we would go to the Memorial Day Parade...after all, who doesn't love a good parade?

I really was there, but these are the kind of pictures that I get!!!!
Overall, it was a great visit and just nice to relax and enjoy the simple things!

I think every post starts out the exact same way....."how can it have been so long since the last post?" or something similar to that. Well, this post should start the exact same way! It's almost like that diary that you wanted to keep as a child or teen, and you promised that you would write everyday and as you look back, there is 1 entry. Well, it's been to long, but here is a glimpse into what's been going on.....

We had Steve's parents here for a week long visit where Grandma was used and abused the kiddos. Boy did they LOVE playing with Grandma, going to the park, taking walks, and playing! She must have slept for a few days straight after she got home!
Grandpa was used and abused by us! We put him and his expertise to work fixing a broken pipe, teaching Steve how to change the brakes, put up new light fixtures, spray painting our ceiling fans. He also enjoyed several trips to Menards (like Home Depot only better!). We are thankful that they come to visit (for many reasons) as that is the only time things get done around here!!

Brielle has been a busy little girl. She is learning so many new words and sounds! She loves to make animal sounds or any other sound that she can repeat. She spends most of her day doing whatever Isaiah is doing. He makes a sound, she usually makes the same one too! Next month we have an appointment to see a Pediatric Opthomologist as one of her eyes is crossed quite often. We are not sure what this new development will entail, but we will keep you all posted!

Isaiah has been a busy guy too! He is growing up fast. He informed me the other day that when he gets older he will be able to read. I told him I didn't want him to grow up, and he said he would only grow up enough so that he could read. He just says the best things in the world. Today we were at a restaurant and when we came back to the table Steve had given Isaiah his applesauce. Isaiah responds, "Well, will you look at that! It's my applesauce!" He has been practicing using his balance bike, hopping on one foot, and getting taller.

Eating ice cream after a bath!

The only other excitement in our house recently was the removal of a dead tree from our back yard.  Mr. Kurt and Steve took a Saturday morning and cut it down. Here are some of the pictures.

The only thing I really ever want on Mother's Day is a picture of me and my kiddos, so here are this year's pictures:

Easter Part 2

He has Risen! He has Risen indeed, Alleluia! You all (hopefully) heard this a million times this morning in worship. I actually wanted to count how many times we did say it, but I would have lost track! What a wonderful thing!

So far the day has been nothing short of spectacular. We woke up early, got ready for church and made it on time! I should back up to say that we usually don't go to 8:00 church because it is such a rush to get there, but today it was the service to we chose. As I felt like I had just run a marathon, we whisked into church. Steve needed to tie Isaiah's tie, because I made it too short just to slip over his big ol' head. He was still working on it as the sanctuary was filling up so Brielle and I headed in to get seats...way in front. The service was beautiful with a surprise visit from Simon Peter (aka Steve).

After service we tried to get a nice picture of the kids, but Isaiah was really NOT cooperating. I even bribed him with chocolate!!! We took 8 pictures, and this is the best we could do...

When we got home we tried again....again, not super successful

After we took some pictures we headed down the hall at church to have breakfast. Since the kids had their breakfast during church, and I did promise them chocolate, that is what they ate!

After we stopped to see Daddy again, we headed home to make our Easter lunch, which neither of the kids really ate. Can you blame them? They were full of that huge chocolate bunny!!!!

We are off to have desert at a friend's house and then home to see what the Easter bunny brought and possibly have an egg hunt. Maybe we can still get to work digging out those nasty Hosta plants. Well, there's always tomorrow for that!

I hope that your Easter is full of F's...faith, family, and fun!

Here are some more Easter pictures...

Easter Fun...part one

So far we have had a couple of events leading up to Easter. At church, we had a family fun day called "Easter Eggstravaganza", which was last Saturday. Then just this morning we dyed Easter eggs. It was a weird kit where you could choose to sponge paint the eggs or place them in the regular dye. Isaiah chose to just regular dye his, while Brielle had a BLAST sponge painting hers. She even tried to taste it...yuk. I hope that all of the color comes off of them by Sunday!!!

Brielle had discovered the joy of picture taking. Up until now, she has not liked her picture being taken. Now she enjoys saying, "cheese" and making a weird face. She has also started to cross her eyes. Again...weird! She likes giving kisses, on her own terms, and being silly. She is currently getting 2-4 new teeth, but taking it like a champ!

The last 2 pictures were taken on Palm Sunday. She just looked too cute not to take a picture! I could just look at that face all day!

Isaiah has been sleeping better, thank God! In fact last night he didn't get up once! We have started potty training at night when he does wake up and I think that was most of the problem. At least it has been working for now!
His new phrase is, "Oh Snap" and he knows how to use it. He is just a funny little kid. He is also the sweetest boy that I know. He is really into asking if we can lay with him when he gets into bed at nap time or night time. Sometimes I do and he usually puts his sweet little arm around my neck and tells me that he loves me. Sometimes he plays with my hair or pats my back, but either way it's sweet. He knows how to make my heart melt, and I eat it up!

We spent most of our time at the Easter church event at the cookie decorating table. Our kids sure do love their cookies!!!
